The system is fully elevated and grade-separated on standard-gauge track, operated by DMRC on behalf of the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMTC), and opened in phases between 2013 and 2017.
The Rapid Metro loop serves Sector 55-56, Sector 54 Chowk, Sector 53-54, and Sector 42-43 before reaching Phase 1, then continues to Sikanderpur, Phase 2, Belvedere Towers, Cyber City, and Moulsari Avenue, closing the loop at Phase 3.
