Green Line Overview

Chennai Metro Green Line runs 22.00 km between Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central and St. Thomas Mount across 17 stations, forming Chennai Metro's second Phase I corridor through the city's northern and western neighbourhoods.

Starting at Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central (Chennai Central), the Green Line runs west through Egmore, Kilpauk Medical College, and the Anna Nagar area at Anna Nagar East and Anna Nagar Tower, then continues through Koyambedu — home to Chennai's major bus terminus — and Vadapalani before terminating at St. Thomas Mount via Arignar Anna Alandur. Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central connects the Green Line to the Blue Line near Chennai Central railway station, and Arignar Anna Alandur is the line's second interchange with the Blue Line further south.

Peak-hour trains on the Green Line run every few minutes on shared central-city stretches, and fares follow Chennai Metro's zone-based system, rising with distance travelled, with a 20% discount for Singara Chennai Card users over QR-code tickets.
