Red Line Overview

Hyderabad Metro Red Line is the network's longest corridor, running 29.21 km between Miyapur and LB Nagar across 27 stations, forming the city's main east-west commuter spine.

From Miyapur, the Red Line runs through JNTU College, KPHB Colony, Kukatpally, Balanagar, and Ameerpet, then through the central business stretch at Punjagutta, Khairtabad, Assembly, and Nampally before reaching MG Bus Station and continuing through Malakpet and Dilsukhnagar to terminate at LB Nagar. Ameerpet is the interchange with the Blue Line, and MG Bus Station is the interchange with the Green Line, giving the Red Line two connections to the rest of the network.

The Red Line serves Hyderabad's Assembly and government district around Khairtabad and Lakdi-ka-Pul, the Kukatpally residential and IT belt in the northwest, and Dilsukhnagar's dense commercial area in the southeast. Trains run in 3-coach sets on the network's shared distance-based fare system. Hyderabad Metro Red Line: Miyapur-Patancheru Route Map Announced With 13.4 Km, 10 Stations

Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited announced the route map for the Red Line's Miyapur-Patancheru extension on January 19, 2025, adding 13.4 km and up to 10 tentative stations to the network, including Alwyn X Road, Madinaguda, Chanda Nagar, BHEL, RC Puram, Beeramguda and Patancheru. Combined with the separately announced LB Nagar-Hayathnagar extension (7.1 km, 6 stations), the Red Line's Phase 2 additions will stretch the corridor to about 50 km end-to-end from Patancheru to Hayathnagar, under the wider Rs 24,269 crore Phase 2 programme.
