Ahmedabad Metro Red Line connects APMC in the south to Motera Stadium in the north, spanning 18.87 km across 15 elevated stations on the city's North-South corridor. The line was inaugurated on 30 September 2022 and opened to the public on 6 October 2022, giving Ahmedabad its first full north-south rapid transit link and a direct connection to the Narendra Modi Stadium at Motera, the world's largest cricket stadium by seating capacity.
The Red Line runs north from APMC through Jivraj Park, Rajiv Nagar, Shreyas, and Paldi, passing Old High Court, Usmanpura, and Vijaynagar, then continuing via Vadaj, Ranip, AEC, and Sabarmati Railway Station before terminating at Motera Stadium. Old High Court is the interchange with the Blue Line, connecting the North-South corridor to Ahmedabad's East-West line, while Motera Stadium links the Red Line to the Yellow Line for onward travel into Gandhinagar. The full corridor runs entirely within Ahmedabad city limits.
Peak-hour train frequency on the Red Line is approximately 10-12 minutes, with 3-coach train sets. The GMRC Smart Card and NCMC are accepted at all 15 stations, and metro fare follows the same distance-slab system as the rest of Ahmedabad Metro.
