Mumbai Metro Line 1 Marks 11 Years: Blue Line Carries Over 111 Crore Commuters Since 2014
Mumbai Metro Line 1, the city's first metro corridor, completed 11 years of operation on June 8, 2025. Since its launch in 2014, the 11.4-km Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar Blue Line has carried over 111 crore commuters, running 444 trips daily at a peak-hour frequency of under 3.5 minutes. The line maintains 99.99% punctuality and has crossed 12.66 lakh train trips. Ghatkopar is the busiest station on the line with over 30 crore commuters, followed by Andheri with 23 crore.
