Grey Line Overview

Delhi Metro Grey Line — officially Line 9 — is the shortest corridor in the Delhi Metro network, running 4.98 km from Dwarka in Southwest Delhi to Dhansa Bus Stand with 4 stations. The Grey Line serves the Dwarka area of outer West Delhi and provides metro connectivity to localities along the Dwarka–Dhansa corridor that were previously dependent on road transport. The line opened in October 2019.

The Grey Line serves Dwarka, Nangli, Najafgarh, and Dhansa Bus Stand — connecting the main Dwarka metro hub (Dwarka station on the Blue Line) to the outer Dwarka and Najafgarh areas. The Dwarka station on this line provides direct interchange with the Blue Line (Line 3) at Dwarka, giving Grey Line passengers access to the main Delhi Metro network. Dhansa Bus Stand at the other end serves as a connecting point for road transport towards Najafgarh and surrounding rural areas.

Delhi Metro Grey Line Extended to Dhansa Bus Stand: PM Modi Inaugurates 2 New Stations on 6 September 2024

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Grey Line (Line 8) extension from Najafgarh to Dhansa Bus Stand on 6 September 2024, extending the corridor by 2.7 km with 2 new metro stations. The Grey Line now spans 7 km from Dwarka to Dhansa Bus Stand with 5 stations. The extension opens metro access to residents of Najafgarh and the Dhansa area — an outer south-western zone of Delhi — for the first time. Dhansa Bus Stand is a major DTC interchange hub for buses serving Haryana's Jhajjar district and surrounding villages. At Dwarka, commuters can transfer to the Blue Line and Airport Express Line, cutting travel time to central Delhi significantly.
