Bhopal Metro, also called Bhoj Metro, is the metro rail system of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh's "City of Lakes," operated by the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (MPMRC). Its Orange Line priority corridor opened for commercial service on 21 December 2025, giving Bhopal 8 operational Bhopal Metro stations between AIIMS and Subhash Nagar over 6.22 km. Trains run daily from about 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, roughly every 10 to 15 minutes at peak hours.
The operational stretch runs through AIIMS, Alkapuri, DRM Office, Rani Kamalapati Railway Station, Board Office Chauraha, MP Nagar, Kendriya Vidyalaya, and Subhash Nagar, linking Bhopal's AIIMS hospital campus and the Rani Kamalapati (Habibganj) railway station to the MP Nagar commercial district. A second corridor, the Green Line, is under construction and will add a north-south route through the city once complete; Bhopal Metro does not yet have an interchange station since only one line is currently open.
Bhopal Metro fare is distance-based, ranging from about ₹20 for the shortest hops to ₹40 for the full corridor, with QR-code and smart-card ticketing on a DMRC-supported automatic fare collection system. For travel assistance, the MPMRC helpline is 0755-2475605. MetroYatra provides station-wise Bhopal Metro train timings, platform details, and fare information for every operational station.
