Kochi Water Metro Overview
Kochi Water Metro is India's first modern water transit system, connecting islands and neighborhoods across Kochi's backwaters by electric hybrid boat. Kochi Water Metro Limited operates it, a joint venture majority-owned by the Kerala government with Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) as a minority partner, and it launched its first service in December 2021.
The network currently has 9 operational terminals serving 4 routes: a frequent High Court–Fort Kochi shuttle, a loop connecting High Court, Vypin, and Fort Kochi, a longer route linking High Court to South Chittoor, Eloor, and Cheranalloor, and a direct Vytilla–Kakkanad service. High Court, near the Kerala High Court in Ernakulam, works as the network's central interchange between these routes.
Kochi Water Metro acts as a feeder service for Kochi Metro's rail network, and both share the same Kochi Metro One card and Kochi One app for ticketing. Kochi Water Metro Fare Chart
Kochi Water Metro publishes a fixed fare for each terminal pair below, not a distance-based rate.
Fares are published per terminal pair by Kochi Water Metro, not by distance. High Court is the network's central interchange, so most published fares connect through it. A dash means no direct or connecting boat currently runs between that pair of terminals.
No separate smart card price is published for individual terminal pairs. The same fare applies whether you pay by token or with the Kochi1 card.
