Navi Mumbai Metro Expansion Approved: Maharashtra Clears Rs 5,575 Crore Line 1A And Line 2 Plan In June 2026
Maharashtra's state cabinet infrastructure committee, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, approved a Rs 5,575 crore expansion of the Navi Mumbai Metro network in June 2026, clearing construction of Line 1A and Line 2. Line 1A is a 3.02 km elevated stretch linking CBD Belapur and Sagar Sangam, while the 14.07 km Line 2 will run from Pendhar to Navi Mumbai International Airport Terminal 4. Construction is expected to start in FY 2027-28, targeted for completion by FY 2031-32.
